2011 Ford Ranger Rear Differential leak.

I have a 2011 Ford Ranger, 242,000 kms. About a month ago I had the rear differential fluid changed at a transmission shop.  Now there is fluid leaking from the rear axle vent hose.  It is leaking from the top of the hose, where it connects to the frame of the vehicle, not at the axle.  Is this normal? Should I take the truck back to the transmission shop?

How much is it leaking? If it's more than a tablespoon, then it's not normal. Open the fill plug and check the level.

Either it was overfilled, or there is the wrong fluid, or water got in there ....

Thanks for your reply. It's more than a tablespoon. If it was overfilled, is it okay to keep driving it, or should I remove fluid?

it's ok if you need to drive it like that for a few days, but I would look after it asap or it will start wearing out your bearings.

If you let it go overfilled, you'll start leaking from the axle seals and the input shaft seal and the'll need to be replaced. $$$$$$$
