Good Morning, Scotty I have been watching your videos for a year now. Im currently deployed overseas and dont want my wife to run into this issue this winter since it happens during this time in Ohio. I have a 2011 Honda Accord 2.4l 4 cyl with over 200,000 miles, over the last three years I have bought a new battery (not cheap ones) EVERY year. I have taken it to multiple shops all of which say its always just a bad battery. Ive asked about the alternator being the issue everyone says no. Im not understanding this issue and hate having to buy a new battery every year.

Some of the most common reasons for a car battery to die repeatedly include loose or corroded battery connections, persistent electrical drains, charging problems, constantly demanding more power than the alternator can provide, and even extreme weather. Some of these problems are enough to kill a battery on their own, while others are usually coupled with a battery that is already weak or on its last legs.

Looks like you have a voltage issue because you shouldn't have to replace the battery that often. Take it to a shop that specializes in checking the electronics in the car because it's got to be some kind of electrical gremlin

If the car has Bluetooth, its known that such software can cause quick battery drainage. This over time can weaken the battery and reduce its potentials. But id say this needs to be look into buy a electrical specialist.

Something I would recommend getting is a voltage regulator for your car. They work really well (people at car meets I go to run em )
are you using optima batteries? You mention “not cheap ones” Those tend to be bad

also if you have an autozone near you I’d recommend the idealist gold ones (they come with 2 year warranty as well)

How long does it typically take for the battery to go bad, you said you're buying a new battery every year, but when does it start showing sign of weakening?

Does it start to have trouble starting the car?

How often,if ever, do you jump start the car?

Does the car sit for prolonged periods of time without use and is this when the battery finally gives out entirely?
