2011 Honda CRV AWD

Scotty, Thank you again for your content. I watch every day since quitting news in November.

About 6 years ago we bought my mother a low milage 2011 CRV used from local Infinity Dealer. Previous owner was a city driver based on the address, super wealthy neighborhood, it was the perfect find. The car was pristine, no accidents, not a scratch. She drives it to church and back 6 miles a day. Less than 2500 miles a year. (Previous owner was probably a lease turn in) Car has now been garaged since she has owned it.

The car has 29,000 miles give or take. I take it to fill up her gas once a month. The car has always done this, it will slightly vibrate after driving and sitting at a stop light.

I go for the trip to the gas station, pull up to a traffic light, car in gear, RPM drops to idle and 9/10 theres this ever so slight vibration. AC on or AC off doesn't seem to be directly related. It’s more irritating than a problem. Pop the car out of gear, vibration stops. Double pedal and ever so slightly feather the gas pedal and vibration stops also. It’s been like this since day one.

In fairness the oil is changed by milage not time.

Everything is original except we changed the tires in Dec so they would be safe. Car is Mint. I will take the car when mine is in for service maybe twice a year and drive it hard. Throw some highway time on it.

Car was taken to a trusted Honda Dealer for service once. (Senior Discount Oil Change and service minder list) otherwise our trusted mechanic has seen it once also.

I know 2012-14 models had some major complaints about this issue for brand new cars and Honda had some crazy felt on the head rests and rubber something on the trans. But this car is prior to that and from watching folks complain about that issue, this is less pronounced.

Any thoughts on what it could be?

Thank You!

Just switch oil service from miles traveled interval to time, … once per year will suffice.

Also, don’t forget other fluids: … transmission, coolant, brake fluid. Those have to be checked, … at least. Talk to your "trusted Honda Dealer" for recommendation on that.

I would change the airfilter and clean the MAF. Even though low miles its 10 years old and could be a little crusty.
