Hey Scotty! I’m looking at a 2011 Nissan Frontier 4WD that has 146K miles! They are asking 13,000$ for it! Are the Nissan Frontiers Reliable? How long do they typically last? The only issue I see mechanically is an exhaust leak and rough idle but super smooth ride once in motion and is a great truck otherwise mechanically. Please answer thank you!
That works out to about 50 miles per day for 11 years. That's a little over the average of 39 miles per day I have researched. A great deal, in terms of value, depends (to me anyway) on a thorough review of the vehicles verifiable maintenance history.
Dealer or private party? Have it checked by a mechanic before purchasing. The price is too high.
Dealer, my father is good friends with the owner of the Nissan Dealership. And he told us he bought the Nissan from its past owner for 10,000$ it’s a one owner truck
Run away, now. Car dealers do not have any friends, they have victims.
Understood, though do you know if the frontier is still reliable or not? Just if I run into another one or not?
Most everything I know personally and have read indicate this to be a reliable, comfortable and good handling little truck.
Thanks Doc very much appreciated, what would you consider low mileage for one of these Nissan Frontiers? Is 144K miles low? Or no?
Over 100k is not low mileage for any vehicle. The issue here is the market dealers are over paying to get inventory so in turn the price goes up. Unfortunately that’s the way of the land now. I love the frontiers but for that mileage I wouldn’t pay that price
Doesn't seem like a terrible deal but the mileage is pretty high. Nissan Frontiers are good trucks because they aren't plagued with the transmission problems of their other vehicles because the Frontiers don't have CVTs. Although I would do a bit of research because I know some years had transmission issues. My dad has a 2008 Frontier with 180,000 miles and that's supposedly one of the ones with a problematic transmission but it hasn't had any issues.
i have an xterra 08 very similar drive train
i have had no problem with it other that the ac resistor has been changed twice
approx $15 per
the miles are higher than I would want
they did have a problem w trans fluid leaking into the radiator
