2011 Subaru Key Receiver

Topic starter

I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6r with approx 163k miles. Both of my Key Fobs worked in the space of a couple of days, I interchange them frequently. One day they both stopped working. I checked the fuse in the engine bay and it was fine. I google search for where the receiver is and how to check it and can't find anything. Most threads concentrate on the Fobs and reprogramming. Im interested in knowing more about troubleshooting the receiver.

Thanks

Jeffrey

How old are the batteries in the key fobs? If they're original, that's 11 years and probably past their useful life. Start with the easy first. The receivers are usually buried somewhere behind the interior trim. That'd be a good question to ask in a good Subaru forum.

You'll probably have to get a new remote keyless receiver module from a Subaru dealer.
