Hello, my brothers Corolla's remote stopped being able to open and lock the doors and trunk with the remote. We tried reprogramming it and the car rejected it. We also tried with a lock Smith and it wouldn't take it either even with another key. What could be the problem?
Well, if he can't reprogram one then odds are you're receiving unit for the door. Locks has broken. If they lock and unlock from the inside using the master control switch then the system would actually be working except that it's not receiving your impulse electronically and that module would have to be replaced
When we were programming manually by putting the key in opening closing the doors and holding the button to save it to car it would detect it but wouldn't save it. The last step said to hold the button and the car would lock and unlock once if it was accepted and twice if not. It always does it twice so it feels like it detects it but wont save. The locksmith said he had deleted the previous saved keys so it shouldn't be a capacity issue. So would it still be the module?
