Scotty,
The vehicle wouldn't start, replaced the Battery, but cannot remove key from the ignition. Also cannot change the car into gear. What can be wrong with this car?

As far as the key problem, it sounds like the interlock between transmission shifter and ignition is kaput. There should be a mechanical over-ride. (See your owner's manual.)
