Good evening Scotty. I’m a huge fan of your channel. I’m looking at a 2012 Toyota Camry with 128,000 miles. The car is in great condition. The only issue is the transmission slips between 2nd and 3rd. The owner says he had the torque converter changed. The guy who did the work told him he just needs to drive it and it will eventually adjust. What are your thoughts? Should I buy the car? Thanks for all your help. Your knowledge is much appreciated.
No. Look for another car.
Run away from that deal as well as any vehicle displaying transmission problems.
Yaser and Chuck are correct. Take a few minutes and read up on the U760E transmission, then run. Unless you are willing to pay 5 grand for a new transmission. I know from experience, unfortunately.
