2013 Charger RT I thought it was a bad idler pulley or pulley bearing from the sound. I lifted the hood and its coming from the trans area/middle of the car. Shifts fine and trans temp is good. Issues I have a "Thump" noise from the rear when I gas it hard from a dead stop and slight vibration at highway speed. The noise is there in park and as a go through the gears. "Whomm, Whomm Whomm Whomm" I haven't checked the carrier the bearing yet but with the noise present in park I'm confused. Torque Converter???? Could that cause the thump as well?

Finding where the noise is coming from prevents guessing. It need to be scanned for any codes Now, if it is the transmission that's making the noise and the noise occurs in park as well as at other speeds, the cause could be internal. I'd have it inspected by a transmission specialist .The noise is there in park and as a go through the gears.
