My sister has a 2012 Chevy equinox, 190k
She had the car over 6 months and paid $5.500! 🙄
It Maybe a V6 engine, she was not able to confirm engine type.
No car service history!
Car now needs a coolant reservoir bottle, as its filled with thick rusty sludge going through the system. A Macnic flushed out the system and still can't get it to run clear, still very dirty.
Then the area where the filler cap is, was blocked 🚫
Next to the hose pipe going down
Due to the thick sludge!
Before the Macanic worked on it, The sludge ran All the way through to the expansion tank.
eventually the Macanic replaced all the coolant and car runs OK now! touch wood.
Does this car sound like the head gasket has gone,
Or its on its way out?
what would be your suggestions? Cut her loses and sell the car? Or just baby it until it dies?

How much is she being offered for it? Does she already have a replacement vehicle lined up?
Don't think macnic cared to test for blown head gasket good point! maybe he wants to get what he can out of her!
I think she will keep it until the wheels fall off! No replacement car lined up
If it does have a blown head gasket, offload it asap!
