Looking at a 2019 Silverado LD Custom and not finding a whole lot of info regarding reliability. Since this model is technically a gen 3 Silverado I would hope Chevy had plenty of time to work out the bugs but I'm hoping to get some feedback on:
- Engine reliability (5.3L V8)
- Transmission reliability (6-speed automatic)
- Common issues with this year/model
FWIW what I'm looking at has ~51,000 miles and they are asking $32,000.
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thank you

Stay away, or atleast find an older Silverado when they were much more reliable -
You already know Scotty’s answer.
The older Silverados before Cylinder Deactivation (AFM and now DFM) were far better; we’re talking 2007 model year and older. The only current Silverado’s I would even look at are the 2500 HD and up, meant more for commercial use.
BTW, one of our members’ experiences with his 2019 Silverado LD: his older Silverado’s transmission lasted much longer.

AFM (active fuel mgmt) was bad, but since 2018 has DFM (dynamic fuel mgmt) imho, even worse. I'd stay away from any mfg. (foreign & domestic) that has cylinder deactivation. If you want to know about it, go and read thru the truck forums and you'll see what people are writing about.
Thanks for the replies all, I'll let this one pass. Glad I didnt buy a piece of junk.
