I was in an accident last year and had to buy a 2012 Ford Escape blindly. unfortunately my body was so messed up I didn't think I traveled as far as I did without an oil change. anyways after the car started making noises I tested it and it had many codes pop up and the oil was empty pretty much. P0300, P0304, P0305, P0306, P001, P00018,and P00021. I'm still kinda broken and so are my pockets. I did change the oil and there wasn't any metal scraps but it also didn't help. I saw the water pump belt is frayed as well but I'm wondering if I ruined the vehicle before I tow it to mechanic and spend money? there's a rattle... could it be the camshaft timing belt making that much noise? n what would throw all of bank 2's misfire codes, do you know? TIA

I'm not quite sure how long it was run with no oil maybe a week or so possibly around 50-80 miles

If that is even remotely accurate the engine is destroyed. (Though there must have been a little oil in there or it would not have even lasted that long.)

You did not state how many miles on the odometer. You did not state which engine either, but since you are seeing misfires on cylinders 5 and 6 it must be the 3.0 V6.

How far did you actually go without an oil change? How long did you run it with "pretty much" no oil? (It does not take long to ruin an engine run with little or no oil.)

Unfortunately that model is quite trouble prone at best - severe rust, window leaks, transmission failure, engine problems, air conditioning failure, the list just goes on and on.

You can find troubleshooting information for your codes in the links below:

https://www.carparts.com/blog/p0021-code-a-camshaft-position-timing-over-advanced-bank-2/

If you look at the potential causes for the P0018 and P0021 a couple of common issues pop up - bad VVT solenoid and worn timing chain/guides. The noise you're hearing might well be a worn timing chain.

@chucktobias it has 119616 miles and is a V6, I'm not quite sure how long it was run with no oil maybe a week or so possibly around 50-80 miles Thank you for the input anything helps
