Hi Scotty and Community,

Need some serious help here for my 12 MDX Advance Package (With the Active Damper System).

The brake padel feels so soft and spongy enough that it goes all the way to the floor suddently in the beginning of November. But vehicle does stop when apply the brake and there are no light or warning messages come on the dash.

Not sure if this is related, around 10/27, there was a relay jumped out somewhere around the footbrake release pull area when I was releasing the footbrake.https://www.mdxers.org/attachments/img_0731-jpeg.132307 /" alt="Hood Finger Input device Automotive lighting Nail" />

Currently, the car is in the dealership and waiting on my decision of whether spending $3500+ to replace the ABS Modulator Assembly - Part# Acura (57110-STX-A63) as they diagnoise that one of the valve of this unit does not send brake fluid to one of the rear brake caliper which end up braking the car with three wheels instead of four. The technician do replaced the relay back and told me the brake issue remains the same.

Any experts, technicians or owners experienced the same issue before can share insights?

I appreciate everyone's input and time, thank you!

PS: I live in DMV area, if anyone knows any trustworthy shop/mechanic, please let me know. My dream is have scotty take a look at my car one day, please consider it, Scotty! I am a huge fan of you, I will rev up my engine to come to you and ring your bell upon arrival. 🙂

Is this part repairable?

Scotty does not usually return to topics he has already answered.

Chances are that part is not repairable, though you could do an internet search to see if there is a rebuilding service available.

If you should find yourself in the Clarksville, TN or Rhode Island when he is there contact Scotty for an appointment. Instructions can be found in the FAQ.

@chucktobias Thanks for the info, how to contact Scotty?

As I said, instructions for contacting Scotty are in the FAQ.

Well I don't know anyone in that area that fixes them. But unfortunately those modulators do go bad. Though before spending that kind of money. Ask your friends who they use as a good mechanic and they would certainly be able to check it out by putting it up on their lifts mashing the brakes and seeing if that one caliper indeed is not getting any pressure at all
