Ford tried four times to fix my EVAP leak and failed every time

I have a 2012 Ford Focus manual that has given me the po456 trouble code. I’ve replaced the purge valve assembly myself and then when the code didn’t go away, I took it to a mechanic shop. They didn’t want to touch it because the evap leak was causing the fuel tank to deform and they said the dealership would be my best bet.

So I took it to Ford. I had them replace the fuel tank and purge valve themselves (so I was completely covered under their warranty.) This did not erase the code. Every 300-900 miles the CEL will come back on with the same code.

I took it to the same dealership FOUR TIMES and they keep giving me the run-around, telling my that the hose line is loose and they reconnected it. I know they’re just trying to get me out the door and they don’t want to figure out the actual problem. I paid $1100 for them to fix this issue but they got me good. I’m so frustrated and I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

Don't go to that dealership anymore. Get a trustworthy mechanic instead.
