2012 Honda Accord 4dr sedan 4 cylinder 2.4L
Good evening, I recently got a check engine light and when I scanned it at my local auto parts store I got the following codes: p145c and p0497. I replaced the fuel cap with an original Honda part. I also replaced the purge valve with an aftermarket part and the purge joint with an original part. My mechanic did a smoke test and found no leak. What can it be? Do I need to get an original Honda purge valve or can it be something more expensive?
Yes you were right i had to replace the purge vakve with an oem the aftermarket kept bringing up the codes
My mechanic did a smoke test and found no leak.
but did he check if all the evap lines are clear and the valves are operating as expected?
@imperator yes he checked and said everything was working fine he said there was no leaks except a small leak near fuel cap
I got the following codes: p145c and p0497
Here are Honda's troubleshooting steps for those trouble codes:
P0497
P145C
An OEM purge valve would have been best. An aftermarket replacement for something like that might not work properly. Of course it could be something else. Have you checked into the other possible causes for those codes?
