I'm searching to buy a 2nd hand CRV 05/06 Diesel in Europe and have a few questions:
1. What problems should I look for?
2. What OBD tool should I get to check for hidden problems (the ones advertised by Kilmer are for US market and the companies did reply to me they would not work, including BlueDriver).
3. How much would you pay for it? I'm going for something up to 190k km, not over.
4. Any other recommendations?
I'm choosing diesel over gas, as I will be doing longer trips (as in between countries 1.5k km one way a few times per year) and gas here it's not so cheap. Ability to go on rougher terrain is also a must, without anything really crazy. CRV seems to me the best fitting one.

Do you have experience with converted cars?
Scotty does not usually revisit topics he has already answered. You might want to post a new topic asking about propane-converted cars.
Well, unfortunately they do not sell those diesels here in the United States so I have absolutely no experience with them. Honda makes really good engines but I can't give you any personal advice because I've never even had my hands on one

Maybe someone else from the forum might have an idea, especially on the obd scanner for European models that I can't figure out. At least not a cheap one - all companies have a 1k one that works 😜
In rest I guess I'll have to just have a look at everything you mention already in many videos.
Maybe a last question:
There is the option to buy a 2.0 gas model, and convert it to LPG. Some are already converted.
