I am having a hard time trouble shooting why I can’t get my dash lights to all work. Several appear to have burnt out - basically all the ones that illuminate the gauges…
1986 Chevy C10 with full gauge cluster and clock. I’ve pulled the whole gauge cluster out and replaced several of the bulbs with 168 LED bulbs. Before inserting the bulbs I pulled the wires out to the sides, inserted the bulbs, then looped the bulb wire under the copper flange.
The following all work with the original incandescent bulbs: one turn signal light, fasten belts and high beam light…. So I know I’m getting power…
Am I doing something wrong with the LED bulbs? Should I just try regular 168s?

- Start by using regular bobs. LEDs have different capacities. Not the regular bulbs don't work then what's happening is your circuit board is breaking down in the dash. That's an old vehicle and the circuit boards often come apart internally and then they don't supply enough power to light the bulbs. It could be either the ground circuit or the power circuit
