Hey Scotty and community, a friend of a friend is selling a 2012 Hyundai Elantra with a little over 80k miles for $4000.
I know Hyundai has a bad rep for poorly manufacturing their cars and have heard plenty stories of issues with these cars.
Do you guys think it's even worth going to look at?
No.

If you already know, then why are you even considering them?
If you want to get burned, a better option would be spicy hot chicken wings!

STAY AWAY FROM HYUNDAI!!!!!!
You may consider putting a link to your nightmare Hyundai ownership topic, in your profile signature. That way, everybody can instantly click on it and read your experience with them.
Will do!
Lol I just figured it might be worth checking out for the right price 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. The used car market is crazy right now and I do need a car but I can understand why it may not be a good idea. It's just scary not knowing if it may have issues in the future based on their history.
Don’t get it! I purchased a 2012 sonata and motor Seized but I got it repaired under warranty/class action lawsuit, and then made a mistake of buying my wife a sante fe 2.0 turbo. That motor went out shortly passed its warranty by the service manager as able to get me a new motor but without any further warranties. I traded that in shortly after. I still have my sonata with over 150k miles on it but I cross my fingers it lasts long enough before I buy another car. As you mentioned used car prices are crazy so I’m waiting for it to drop back down.
