Ive got a 2012 jeep compass 143k miles with the code P000A took it to an autozone and said that if the wrong oil was put in it could cause the check engine light to come on and give this code? Is this true, i have never heard of putting wrong oil in could cause engine light to come on. Ive always changed the oil myself using the correct oil. Any other reasons why im getting this code? It runs and drives great no engine noises.

Theoretically the wrong oil can cause a problem in the variable valve timing and trip that code that is true. But more often it's problem in a worn timing chain
