Hi Scotty, I'm a long-time fan.
I purchased a 2012 Lexus RX350 FWD with 128K miles about 6 months ago. I didn't do anything about this issue when I bought the vehicle but now I like to get to the bottom of it.
Everything is great except when I accelerate slowly, the shifting is jerky going from 2nd to 3rd. When I'm in sport mode (manual shifting) I don't have this problem. When I drive more aggressively (more gas) the hesitation does not occur. In addition, it seems fine when I'm going uphill.
Since I bought the car, I changed the transmission fluid and added Lucus. But it didn't have any effect.
I love the car and want to keep it for a very long time but this issue is bugging me.
What can it be?
Thanks,
Wayne
From what you are describing it sounds like the transmission is starting to go out. Have a mechanic check the transmission and hope it is not a big problem.
I would not worry about it since if it was a transmission issue, you would have issues under the load as well. For peace of your mind, take your car to a transmission pro to check it out.
