Vehicle: 2012 Sentra SR (2.0L) 107,000 mi, automatic, OBDII Code P0101
Problem:
Originally, car came to complete stop while driving, had it towed to Firestone. Firestone said it was a bad MAF (wish I would have watched your youtube vid on this). They replaced old MAF and air filter and cleaned throttle body. I changed out the PCV as well. The car started up/ran fine initially. Three to four months later SES light comes back on and same code (P0101) appears. Within the same 3-4 month span, noticed acceleration problems in the vehicle that I didnt have before.
Car idles fine, however, if I step down all the way on gas pedal (from a complete stop), RPMs barely hit 1000 and vehicle barely moves forward. I have to let off the pedal a bit for it to accelerate "normally". Now, if i baby the gas pedal and not step down on it fully, it will start to accelerate. However, if i keep my foot on gas pedal while driving, the RPMs shoot up and dont let up until I let off gas pedal and acceleration is gradual as opposed to normal acceleration rate. When i get the vehicle up to 60mph there is wheezing/whining sound that occurs as well.
I took it to another Firestone to have it looked at it again as I was having two tires replaced. They reset the code, took a look at the MAF and said it looked fine and that I might have a clogged cat. A day later the P0101 code comes up again. I'm skeptical they looked at MAF again because they didnt even mention any kind of acceleration problems. If they would have just drove the vehicle, they would have seen how sluggish the acceleration is. Taking it back yet again to another Firestone to see if they tell me something different.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Felt like this car has been nothing but problems since I bought it 2 years ago.

wheezing/whining sound
Maybe a vacuum leak?
I thought that, but I have no problems starting the vehicle and I have no rough idling.
