I have a 2022 Toyota corolla le, 1.8 L 4 cylinder, with 15k miles, the toyota warranty has it to where the oil gets changed every 10k miles, should I just forfeit the warranty and change my oil every 5k miles?

What does the warranty actually say? I would expect that the warranty would only be voided if you did fewer oil changes rather than more. There may even be a "severe service" maintenance schedule calling for more frequent changes.

It says that the dealer has to perform the maintenance to or warranty will be voided

Where are you located? That is illegal in the United States.

If you are in the US, I doubt the warranty will become void for doing more oil changes.

One of my friends bought a new Toyota recently. Goes in every 10K for the complimentary oil change. Does there own oil change with OEM filters, every 5K miles in between.

I don't see "changed oil too often", or anything along those lines, listed under the "Exceptions" in the warranty booklet.

Who told you it would forfeit the warranty?

Where? Which page?

What I see: "Toyota recommends having maintenance performed by an authorized Toyota Dealership."

"It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is maintained and operated in accordance with the published instructions ... you may have the repair performed by a licensed technician at an established service facility."  (page 6)

"The use of non-Toyota parts and the performance of any maintenance or repair by a non-Toyota Dealer will not affect your emission defect or performance warranty coverage ... " (page 12)

Additionally, it would be illegal for them to deny you warranty service on this basis, since you are protected by the Magnus-Moss Warranty Act.
