2012 Scion XB suspension clunk

Hello, I have a 2012 Scion XB 91,000 miles. I hear clunking in the suspension when hitting small bumps at low speeds. I checked to see if there was any play in the wheels, but it was fine. There wasn’t any visible damage to the suspension parts either. Any suggestions?

Check bushings primarily in control arms and sway bars and strut mounts. Clunks are most commonly links or bushings. Also make sure the struts aren’t leaking

It is probably worn rubber bushings. Suspensions as they age will start to make some noise as the rubber bushings wear and you start to get a little metal-on-metal contact.

You can check this yourself by jacking up the car, crawling underneath, and looking to see if you have any that show significant wear.

If so, you can replace them with polyurethane bushings and you should be good.
