Sitting 2012 Toyota Camry: Ok to start?

Purchasing a toyota camry 2012 le (private party.  Car has not started for a few years. Replaced filter, plugs and battery. Oil is clean (only 5700 miles). Has a 1/4 of gas. Is it ok to start or should i remove fuel? Car has been in garage for 2 years . Thank you

I would get rid of the old gas. 

One more thing: Make sure that the transmission was serviced at Toyota (this model has torque converter issue).


I should add that the transmission issue is for the 4 cylnder ones and if the mentioned car has a V6, you don't have that particluar issue but you still want your mechanic to check the car before purchase.

Drain the old gas and use it in a lawn mower.

As everyone has said, drain the old gas - it's almost certainly bad.

Also realize that after 2 years of sitting, it's bound to have issues.

Make extra sure that the transmission is in working order, these had A LOT of issues.
