2012 Toyota Corolla le

Hi Scotty my name is Michelle and I am a 38 year old single mom I have a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE 1.8 l that broke down and I have been working on it myself because I have no other choice I have no money to get it repaired and it's my only vehicle and I cannot work without a vehicle originally the person who sold me the car cut the ignition wires because there was an issue with abs and it would not start those wires started to burn so I am fixing the wiring harness but besides that I installed a new alternator and the bottom bolt will not line up I have done everything possible off of the car and lines up perfectly the bolt is straight when I go to put it on I cannot get it to go through I have hit the inside of the bracket with a socket I have done everything I had to change the oil pan because of a oil change shop messed it up and strip the bolt once I did that the car would not start I cannot put the windows up I have no power but the main issue now is trying to get this bottom bolt on the alternator on I live in Richmond Virginia and just really need some help

It's really hard to help you without seeing what you've got there, Michelle. I'm having a hard time picturing the problem.

Try to post some photos.

Did you get any of the bolts through? It can be a tight fight sometimes. Try to get one bolt in, and the rotate the alternator into place. A pry bar is necessary sometimes. Don't forget to hook up the wires first before bolting it in, as they can sometimes be difficult to access after.
