I hear a ticking/rattling type noise in my engine. Took it to the dealer as a last resort and they said the timing belt tensioner seized up and the hydraulic fluid leaked out. I've attached two video clips of the noise.
Ok DO NOT drive or start the car. Tow it to a shop and have them do the timing belt service. You're overdue, suppose to get it done at 105k miles.
Be aware of counterfeit timing belt kits, ONLY use OE parts straight from dealership or Aisin kit from rockauto.
Once you replace the timing belt components, you're good to go.
Ouch! How many miles on the car?
@carlos
About 120,700 miles now
Too early for that. But it does sound like a flopping chain.
Hopefully, a mechanic will stop by and give some pro advice on how to proceed.
@carlos
They don't use chains
Lol. I thought they switched back to chains by that year.
