Hey Scotty, I finally got rid of my BMW and bought a 2013 Lexus GS 350 with one owner, amazing service history done all at Lexus dealership owned by an old lady who garaged it, 42,650 miles on it. The car was originally $63,000 because it is fully loaded. Trans and differential fluid were even changed which I almost never see on a Carfax. The car when I first start it sounds like a diesel engine with the clicking kinda when accelerating for a good few minutes and when making turns, then quiets down but not whisper quiet like other Lexus. I'm wondering do you think the valve timing or cams are worn? I did not have it checked out before I bought it because of its amazing service history and it being sold at the dealership where it was bought and serviced at. I spent $23,000 on it two months ago and the trade-in value says it's worth $25,000. Why do you think it's loud, and should I worry or just accept it. Being a 2013 it's when they changed the design of the GS 350s and for the most part, it seems to have the same parts except they didn't put a bunch of the plastic beauty covers covering all the parts, unlike the 2007-2012 models.

You should definitely check the engine. It is not expected that the mentioned car with that service history has that issue. Maybe that particular engine has some defects. Give the dealer the Lexus dealer and ask for some history. Since the car was serviced in the Lexus dealer, they should have noticed the noise and they should definitely know mention in the service records that they give to the owner.
