Hi Guys,
Are there any other easy tell tale signs of an engine that's burning oil besides the smoke from the exhaust and checking the spark plugs for carbon buildup? I was thinking, if I'm buying a used car and wanted to check it the owner might have changed the oil as well as the spark plugs and might not look like an oil burner at first glance.

Here a tip I learnt.
Only buy a car when started cold. You will see problem with a cold start car.
Look around and and ask to see where the car is stored and see if there are oil puddle.
Look got oil in the boot.
Next just ask the owner how much oil does it burn.
