Our 2013 VW TDI Beetle convertible with 8,000 miles on the odometer recently developed a small diesel leak that we can smell when the car is idling, or after it’s parked in the garage. I also noticed a small drip on the garage floor that is located under the engine, but closer to the passenger side front tire. I removed the top beauty cover and did not see any leaks or signs of diesel on the top side of the engine.
I took it to the dealer and they also noticed diesel on the belly pan and right side lower body shield. Diesel was also on the AC compressor and the hoses under the compressor. Everything was wiped clean and the car was left to idle for 20 minutes with no signs of anything leaking.
Any suggestions where this leak could be come from are appreciated.
Thanks.
