2014-2016 Toyota Corolla Transmission reliability opinions

Thank You all so much for your help, seems like Corolla is the way to go for a first car.

Now, my question is on the transmissions. Which transmission is prefered? 6 speed manual would be nice but impossible to find where I am. The choice is 4 speed automic or CVT? I prefer the CVT because of the better gas mileae (2mpg better which adds up) and the 4 speed auto seems extremly archaic though I haven't driven it yet. Which one would you choose when it comes to a balance of reliability and performance and gas mileage? From my research this CVT seems to be pretty reliable if you take care of it. If the 4 speed is a lot more reliable might as well get that.

Between L and LE trims, LE Eco has Valvematic technology which has problems, and S has uncomfortable seats, Price difference isn't much.

Or, should I avoid this generation? The price difference between the previous one and this one is nonexistent and this one is a lot better. Thanks you all for helping me narrow down!

The 4-speed is an older design, but it is tried and true. However, Toyota CVT's are very good and I would go that route myself.

Unlike the Fusion you were considering, I don't think this is a bad car to look at. The LE would be a nice car that would last if you maintained it. Just be sure you get it checked out by a mechanic before you buy.

thanks, will do. I thought the 4 speed auto was archaic {black}
