I have an Acura ILX 2014 base model 2.0 that shakes violently at 60-70mph I took it in to a tire shop had the tires balanced twice. Left the car with a mechanic who told me they couldn’t find an issue that I would need to take it to a transmission shop. What could be the problem and why would I need to go to the transmission shop? The car runs perfect it has low miles it just shakes at high speeds. Can someone help me figure it out before I go and spend thousands on something that it has nothing to do with.
Well many things can make a car shake including the transmission and the drive shafts if the drive shaft is slightly worn it will wobble at certain speeds. But of course many suspension problems like Warren struts control arm bushings working do the same thing so you have to find a mechanic who knows what the hell he's doing. If you're around me when I'm in Tennessee or when I'm in Rhode Island I can easily check it out but I doubt if you're one or the other
