2014 Ford Flex w/53,000 mi.  Dealer wants $149.00 to upgrade navigation.  Is there any aftermarket upgrade you know of?

(I can get a GPS with lifetime maps for less)

Ahhh do you own a smart phone? And a phone holder and charger combo is like on Amazon is like $10 dollars lol. If you are looking for just a car GPS you can get something like a Garmin system for like as low as $20

I do use a smart phone but my wife likes her in dash OEM navigation. But with new construction since 2014 we get bad instruction like exit to right when it had been changed to left after construction.

Aftermarket stuff is kinda wishy-washy and it would be around the same price from what I am aware of. If your wife likes the OEM, then $150 is not bad for just a plug and play system. Aftermarket ones require wiring and rerouting things, makes it a tad more complicated therefore adding to the same price for par to subpar when compared to the OE. That being said. I guess ford don't update their stuff... Even if your wife likes the OEM, you'd be better off getting that lifetime gps you are talking about. Or see if you can convince her to use something other than the main dash if it do be that much of an inconvenience to use a smart phone. Though I can promise you that Google maps is by far more advanced than any maps system to-date, live traffic feed and always updated.
