Transmission Slipping

I recently bought a 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid, it now has 5,500 miles on it. When going uphill, the transmission seems to slip (rpm seems to fluctuate and the car jolts) This typically happens when I have cruise control active, but it also happens when I am in control. I am not sure if this is a normal thing for modern-day CVT transmissions, but I wanted to ask what causes this in case it was not normal.

The Camry computer is probably calibrating at what speed/torque it needs to go up said hill. I've also noticed on my 2019 Camry SE the same problem. It's cause the car needs to keep at a set speed, require more torque uphill, takes a long time too for the computer to be all like "ahh yes needs power" tad bit annoying since I thought enjoy active responsiveness so to me the computer is slow, but no I would say it's normal as. I think Toyota made it this way though to preserve the trans. If you have any concerns though you can always request dealer to take a look under manufacturer warranty.

Ahh seems reasonable, but this issue never happened with my 2017 Prius which has the exact same CVT and I put almost 100k miles on it. If the issue doesn't resolve itself, I will have them take a look. Thanks so much for the input!! 🙂
