135000 miles - 2014 Santa Fe is oscillating left and right when driven. It's far more noticeable at lower speeds. All tires inflated correctly. What causes this and can I fix it myself? I am skilled with tools.
Turns out is was a rear tire where the steel belts were separating and created a bubble in the tire. It was only visible once the mechanic got it up on the rack and spun it by hand. So, two new tires and the car runs great and smooth. Thanks again for all you comments and suggestions. I'm lucky it wasn't more involved (and more costly)!
Better have an expert check your suspension and steering.
Did you check your alignment?
It runs straight when I take my hands off the steering wheel. It's like the frame/tires are solic and the body is tilting left and right on the frame.
Yuck! How about your spindles?
@fordfan Thanks for the replies. I'll start looking at the spindals, shocks, etc the next time I get under the car. I was hoping this was something common on the Santa Fe so I would know where to start first.
