2014. Hyundai santaFe se. Automatic

My Hyundai Santa Fe has 119,000 miles on it. Recently l, a mechanic said that it needed the stabilizer bar replaced.    Prob right since I live in Houston with all the pot holes. Is this an expensive repair and is it dangerous to wait until Sept to get it fixed?   As a side this in good shape and I’ve spent maybe 8000 since I bought it as a demo in late  2014.  I hope to make it to 150,000 mikes before I buy another car

thanks!

Did the mechanic say why it needs to be replaced? Usually it's just the stabilizer links and bushings that go bad.

He said only one side was attached.

Estimate reflects two things which might be related

1,  replace front sway bar links

2. Remove and replace both rear upper control arms

why? it's just a bar so there's nothing really to wear out. They seldom break. the bushings and links attached to the bar wear out, but not the whole bar.

Did he show it to you, or take any photos?

Thank you.  I’ll start with that. 🙂
