My 2014 Nissan Frontier S (4 cyl. AT) has about 76,000 miles on it. I bought it used with about 43,000 miles on it and I am the second owner. Have had no problems until recently. Twice in the last 500 miles or so of travel the transmission started shifting both up and down with a pronounced jolt each shift. Park at home for a few hours and it goes back to shifting like new. AT fluid shows on the dipstick to be clean and at correct level. Scan using an Actron CP9180 shows no codes. Truck has never been used hard or towed anything. I dread taking it to a dealer and getting ripped off. Any thoughts on what might be going on and how to proceed would be appreciated. Thanks!
If that the fluid has no history if service I would recommend a fluid service .. otherwise pull the electronic connector on the passenger side of the transmission since it’s the tcm is incorporated in the valve body inside the transmission.. those connectors depending on where you live are prone to corrosion and can cause intermittent strange issues
