Hi Scotty,
My engine started knocking not long ago, engine model - 1.5 L 3SZ-VE I4 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_...
Diagnosed by mechanic by running the engine without serpentine/fan belt, the noise still persist. As a result it is definitely a noise result from engine itself...
No changes to the engine knock even after an oil change and all 4 spark plugs change
I have did some research and found out that some toyota avanza 2003-2015 will have water leak into the air filter box and got into the throttle body and then into the engine eventually.

My Question is what caused the engine knock, was it water or other causes?
Still yet to fix the problem now
