Hi! I have 2015 Civic with cvt transmission, 63 000km. I started to notice an oil smell every time I start my car, within the first minute of startup. The smell doesn't last long, maybe 5 seconds, but it happens every time. I just had my oil changed and the cabin and engine air filter (both filters where dirty, I figured that might be why). The car continues to have the smell on startup. I can't see any leaks where I park. I took it in to Honda for a checkup, but they couldn't find anything wrong. I was wondering if anyone has any idea what could cause this smell?
Sounds like a small valve cover leak onto the exhaust manifold. Try a spray can of Ozium air sanitizer (available at parts stores). You might get lucky.
Awesome, thank you! I will try that
