We have a 2015 Ford Focus SE hatchback. 104k mi on body, 50k mi on motor. Car was an r title engine was cheaper to replace than an oil pan so everything was replaced. The a/c doesnt seem to want to work. New pump, new condenser, new expansion valve, new high pressure sensor on high side. Pump was replaced twice with junk yard pumps, it was also replaced with 2 new pumps. Were on the second new pump at the moment. If you put freon in the car we get 80 or 90 psi on both side of the gauges. We cant seem to figure out why we arent getting cold air. Could the evaporator be bad and of so how can you test ? I used dye but no leaks.. im stumped. Local mechanics have no clue they only seem to be parts changers. Before i take it to the ford garage i thought id try this as i watch your videos quite often.

Do not take it a Ford dealer. Take it to an automotive ac specialty shop for proper diagnosis and repair.

If you're getting near the same pressure on both sides of the system with the compressor running there can be no expectation of getting any cold air. Depending on ambient temperature on a hot day you should be seeing something like 40-50 psi low and 200-250 psi high.
Does that compressor have a control valve that's managed by a computer module? You may be looking at a computer problem. In that case pro-grade bidirectional scan tool is needed for diagnosis.
i was thinking it could be something electronic. might have to buy my a higher end scan tool and try it out myself. always wanted one i guess its a good time to buy it...ill give it a try ! thank you for your comment
