The transmission started to lose power and would not go over 40 MPH. Sat for 2hrs and seemed to be fine. When taken to a third party garage the mechanic said the trans was going bad. Looked this up on the internet it was reported that their is a recall on the trans pump. Then I called the dealership gave them the vin number there no recalls to be found. Where would you go from here?
Hey I’d love to help. Dealerships usually do run or act unknowing from anything they’ll have to replace for free. Idk why, they just sometimes would rather see you turn it in and pick something off the show room floor 🤦♂️. I’d listen to that mechanic though I’ve seen those transmissions blow left & right. Very bad build transmission wise but if it’s doing what you explained that’ll definitely be related to the famous Chrysler transmission failure. Sorry to add to the bad news but I wish you good luck. P.S I wouldn’t get a used Transmission just because of the sorry design. If you put any money into having it replaced let the deal breaker be the warranty offered with it. At least 2-3yr warranty if not more.

@candyman Not a problem. Glad I can help. & I wouldn’t blame you, Chrysler/Dodge quality has just been really disappointing lately.
I agree with the above comment. Just one more thing: If it is a recall, you can check it in the NHTSA website providing the VIN#:
If it is there, the dealer should fix the issue for free.
Good luck.
