to change or not change transmission fluid on 2007 Silverado

2007 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4x4 with almost 80,000 miles.  No noticeable transmission issues but I am wondering if it is a good idea to change ATF given the mileage and age of the truck, to my knowledge it has never been changed.  I want to change it to hopefully extend the life of the vehicle but don't know if it would do more harm than good.  majority of the miles are city miles if that makes and difference.

I dont think you will have a issue if you change it

Color of fluid?  If cleanish, I wouldn't hesitate to change filter and fluid on it.

Hey I’d love to give my advice. Since you say it’s right at 80k miles with no problems. I’d go ahead and change it with the filter. It’s usually that 125k-150k mi. mark where you probably don’t want to mess with it. But a happy transmission would love to have its fluid changed every 75k miles or so to prolong the life as much as possible. Just be sure that you get as much fluid out as possible and measure exactly. Not too much you can do about the torque converter fluid but dropping the pan & cleaning it is a + and if possible and not much of a pain go ahead and blow low pressure through your transmission cooler and get the fluid out of there as well, into your measuring container. Then refill with new filter installed. Your transmission should thank you and pay off in the long run. Good Luck.
