2016 Dodge Durango intermittent starting problem. Motor does not turn over during episodes. Dash lights come on as normal. Mechanic says manufacturer recommends TIPM replacement. What do you think?

Well lots of things can do that. If he analyzed it. I would say he's probably right. But it can be a bad ignition switch can be a bad starter. It can be bad wiring. It can even be a problem in the computer. System is ultimately a modern vehicle like that uses the computer to start the car and it checks all kinds of things before it sends power to the relay which sends's 12 volts to the starter motor
