My truck started and then a wrench sign display on the dash, then the cooling fan suddenly turn violently fast. So I turn off the engine, the screen was showing "Turn off or start the engine" and something like "System off to save battery". I check the battery was in low charge. I charged the battery. It did not crank even if the battery voltage is over 12volt. Then I replace the presuming dead battery with a new one. Then the "System off to save battery" message went away. Everything seem normal but it won't crank when I tried to start the engine. Ford F-150
Well it might have had the engine locked up. Get a giant socket that fits on the front pole to the bottom of the engine on the pulley there and a long extension bar and see if you can turn the engine over by hand 360°. If not the engine is locked up. Start there
Thanks Scotty, I had been watching your videos for year! Great job!
Truck started after 8+ hrs. on the driveway, similar things happened:-
1. it cranked and started
2. cooling fan started to run much faster as compared to normal (I guess)
3. Dash started to show an amber wrench (see user manual) message
4. I stopped the engine
5. When I tried to startup the engine again, it won't crank as yesterday
Some updates to the issue:-
1. I tested the starter, it is working
2. I was able to start the truck after sometime of resting (It did not start right after shutting down)
3. When it is not cranking, there is no voltage to the S terminal of the solenoid
4. There are two codes, P0706 & P0707
Would you drive the truck to repair shop when it can be started?
