2016 Honda Accord stereo trouble

Hey guys, recently bought a 2016 Honda Accord Sport with 100k miles, new tires, brakes, fresh oil change, and had it gone over well. It's a auto , 4cyl car, and runs well. My question is about electronics, hoping someone can help.

This car doesn't have dual display or I mean the touch screen with apply play and all that. Has the base level radio with the upper dash display only. With that said, I've noticed it running a little slow and it will not pair with my phone via bluetooth, won't let me remove old paired phones, etc. Won't even show the option to add a new device  My phone works with my neighbors 2015 accord so I know it works. I tried doing a factory data reset of the display but it says it can't process it. Tried removing settings of the radio display, says it's can't process it. I was told you can do a reboot of the display by holding down the power button for three secs which did nothing and even tried 30 secs, still nothing. I know I can disconnect the battery but I'm also told I would need to renter the radio ID.

Does anybody know how to reset these upper displays or had my issue? This is a work car and really need the bluetooth. Thanks.

InThrustWeTrust, said it best....Research before you get anything....

It's not like the old days where you could pop out an old factory receiver and install new pioneer or kenwood, etc... with just some simple wiring.....With newer vehicles with all the computer modules and data busses etc are nuts. I always check out Crutchfield to see what sort of install gear is needed. Also check Youtube to see if anyone has posted any videos for your specific 16 Accord Sport. There are several good audio shops that post install videos on YTube. The really good videos show you how to take everything apart and even know the compatible hardware/wiring harnesses etc to make install as plug n play as possible.

Well odds are your unit has gone bad realize you can get androids for less than 200 bucks that work perfectly fine I have an Android pumpkin and my Toyota and it's fantastic and was cheap took maybe an hour to install myself

Thanks, do they have aftermarket displays now that can replace the upper display and also replace th base radio and put in a new lower touch screen as well? Just wondering. Thanks

You’ll have to visit your load car audio joint, for sourcing specific model specific aftermarket stereos. Do your research well, before you pull the trigger.
