Engine knock when cold

2016 Nissan Frontier,70 thousand miles. In the winter after you first take off it sounds like it has a knock in the motor. Once it warms up the knock goes away. Doesn’t do it at all in the summer when it’s warm outside.

Openness in a variable valve timing of the engine. When it's colder it takes a while for the oil pressure to build up and so it makes a noise until the oil pressure builds up. So what you might try is get some good engine oil flush like my friend Bernie's ATS just Google Bernie ATS Albuquerque and buy a bottle of the stuff and follow the directions. That often frees it up. So the oil pressure gets tighter and then the cam system doesn't rattle if it's sticking from lack of pressure and being old and gooey
