Came across a really nice 2016 Toyota Tacoma w/ 66,000 kms on it for sale and was wondering if there is anything to lookout for in that model year. Currently driving a 2011 Ram 2dr Sport, has been a great truck for me but it is up past 260,000 kms and it is starting to show its age. Here is the dealer ad > https://www.kijijiautos.ca/cars/toyota/tacoma/#vip=21184131
A manual is easier to maintain gives the driver more control and is way more fun to drive
2016 had issues with the automatic transmission but since the one you are looking at is the manual transmission you don’t have to worry about those problems. Also there were 4 recalls for it: see link below and confirm those were done on this vehicle already. I am curious in one of the photos it states $1,399.35 in “All mechanical improvements completed - wiper blades, new tires” : is that only for wiper blades and new tires? I can’t tell you if the asking price is adequate or not (not my forte), but as far as issues you are in the clear (since this one is a manual). Of course, you would want an independent, honest mechanic to thoroughly check out this truck and give the OK before you bought it.

You have to be kidding. Over $2000 in mechanical fixes? What were they? Were is the detail? Inspection for over $200? Who did the inspection, Ray Charles? This is why I never even consider cars at a dealer. They are a total rip off. And $40K - GOODBYE!
Where does it say that?
$1,399 CDN ($1,112 USD) for a set of new truck tires and probably OEM wiper blades is a good deal. The other fees and inspections are standard and would apply to any vehicle.
The price is kinda of high but in line with comparables in his area.
66K km (41k miles) is pretty low for a Toyota. It is also a very nice truck and manual trans is a big bonus imo. I would seriously consider it if your serious about getting something new.
Get rid of that Ram before its too late that is a lot of km's/miles for one of those!
It says in the ad - $39,877. That's $40K in my book. If you really think nearly $1400 for 4 tires and two wiper blades is a good deal, you and I live on different planets.
A provincial inspection runs about $200 and the mech. cost listed is mostly for the brand new set of KO2 rubber, also note prices are in canadian dollars - trucks be pricey here right now
