Hi Scotty, what is your take on 2017 Audi Q7 3.0 V6 Supercharged engine,Mileage 31,000 km, regularly dealer serviced. Are those cars reliable? Asking for a friend who is not very knowledgeable about cars, thanks

I would stay away from those or any German vehicle unless you were leasing it under warranty and returning before the warranty expires.  You do not want to own those overengineered vehicles without a warranty.

That’s what I told him.. my advice to him was to go with Lexus RX350 . Thanks for your feedback.

Well, they are much better than the 4 cylinder Audis there is no arguing in that, but they are still not the greatest engines vs a BMW inline 6 (take the B58 that was developed when BMW was working with Toyota on the Z4 and Supra). The Q7's have always been known to be endless money pits but the best Q7s IMO are the TDI models (not the V12 TDI since that one will make you go bankrupt) powertrain wise. The rest of the car is all complex and things break and cost a fortune to fix. If you can get one for a decent price and you don't mind the higher cost of maintenance go ahead (although personally I would rather have a BMW X5 40i (if I had loads of money to burn) but the Q7 has the third-row option so I guess there is that).

I couldn’t agree more.. thank you
