Is this your first car?

Brake rotors are supposed to rust. Look at everybody else's.

You should see what brake rotors look like in humid locations after sitting for a day or two. They're made of cast iron and exposed to the elements, surface rust is perfectly normal.

If you notice rust on the surface where the brake pads squeeze the rotor after the vehicle sits (this can happen overnight) that is normal.

If you are seeing rust in the center of the rotor, that is normal as well.

Lastly, if the rust is isolated only on the rotor itself, remember that is a part that is supposed to be replaced once it becomes too thin (out of spec) or when it warps.

You are fine, nothing to worry about.
