Our 2017 Ford Escape 2.0L four-cylinder FWD's Auto start-stop will fail, and display a message on the dash reading "shift to park, and restart engine". The deadler has replaced the battery, and that fixed it only temporarily. Any ideas on how to get this fixed?

What do you exactly mean by "fixed it only temporarily"?
It worked fine, but only for a couple of months. Then we ran into the problem again.
It seems the battery is the issue. Have you load tested the battery?
No. How would one do that? Would I need any special supplies? Thanks for the help btw.
Go to an Autozone or any part store. They do it for free. If the battery is weak, make sure you buy the strongest battery (that fits in your car).
Great! thanks.
