Hello, my father in law has a 2017 Ford T-250, and I do most of the work on it since he is busy working a lot. He does a lot of highway driving with it, but his front and rear brakes go bad every 3 months, and his rotors won't last a year. When we reached out to the dealership and the Transit Community, they said that that is typical with average driving for this vehicle. The pads and caliper, even the rotors, are unusually small for this size vehicle, my 08 E350 pads were mammoth size. Is there anyone who has gotten a different size caliper and larger brake pad from another vehicle and replaced the Transit brake system with it? Thanks
Before upgrading, I would suggest to try quality pads and see how long they last.
Unfortunately we already have. We went to different suppliers, we tried ceramics, but nothing has worked. I wish it was a simple fix as we needed ceramics instead of metallics, but we have tried already
